WHY CHOOSE SUSTAINABLE JEWELLERY?

You have probably heard of the term ''sustainable fashion'', ''sustainable jewellery'' or ''eco-friendly shopping'' right? What exactly does all this mean – is it just another new age marketing trickery or really something legit?

Well, here goes my monologue about it. At the end, you decide.

Sustainable jewellery is made using sustainable materials and methods, such as recycled metals and fair trade gemstones, to reduce the impact of mining and production. In this way it is better for the environment as it is produced with minimal harm to the environment, it is better for society as it is produced with fair labour practices, ensuring that workers are paid fair wages and treated ethically, which helps to support local communities and reduce exploitation.

Sustainable jewellery is often made with high-quality materials and traditional craftsmanship resulting in pieces that are built to last, reducing the need for frequent replacements, ultimately reducing waste and consumption. Sustainable jewellery brands are also often more transparent about their sourcing and production methods, allowing consumers to make more informed decisions about their purchases. I feel like this should become a standard and a must – every company should show where they source their materials and disclose their supply chain.

Choosing sustainable jewellery is an act of ethical consumerism, by doing so you can vote with your wallet and support an industry that prioritizes sustainability and ethical practices.

WHY IS SLOW FASHION THE FUTURE?

Slow fashion is a movement that promotes the production and consumption of high-quality, sustainable clothing and accessories. It is a response to the fast fashion industry which emphasizes speed, low cost, and a constant turnover of styles and trends.

Slow fashion encourages the use of natural and sustainable materials, ethical production methods, and fair labour practices. It also prioritizes timeless, durable designs that can be worn for many years, rather than disposable, trendy styles. Slow fashion products are often made by hand or in small batches, which results in a more unique and personal product for the consumer.

The slow fashion movement encourages people to be more mindful of their clothing choices, to buy fewer but higher-quality items, and to take better care of their clothes to extend their life. It ultimately aims to reduce the environmental impact of the fashion industry and create a more sustainable future.

 The choice is yours. ❤️
